Vaginal discharge, also known as leukorrhea, is a common physiological occurrence in adolescent females, but it can also be indicative of underlying health issues, including infections or poor hygiene practices. This research aims to examine the relationship between adolescents' knowledge of vaginal health, their hygiene practices, and the occurrence of abnormal vaginal discharge. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among adolescent females to assess their level of knowledge regarding vaginal health and hygiene, as well as their hygiene behaviors and the prevalence of vaginal discharge. The findings revealed that while many adolescents possess basic knowledge of vaginal health, significant gaps remain, particularly concerning the causes of abnormal discharge and the best hygiene practices. Furthermore, adolescents with lower levels of knowledge were more likely to engage in improper hygiene practices, which contributed to a higher prevalence of abnormal vaginal discharge. The study highlights the importance of comprehensive reproductive health education in schools and communities, emphasizing the need for improved hygiene practices to prevent infections and promote overall vaginal health. Recommendations for future health education programs include targeted interventions to address knowledge gaps, increase awareness of proper hygiene, and ensure access to affordable sanitary products. This research underscores the critical role of education and hygiene practices in reducing the risk of abnormal vaginal discharge and improving adolescent health outcomes.
