Abstract

Early childhood is a critical stage for instilling religious values, shaping moral character, and developing a foundational understanding of Islamic teachings. Madrasahs play a significant role in providing structured religious education to young learners. However, the effectiveness of Islamic education in early childhood depends on various factors within the madrasah environment, including teaching methodologies, teacher competence, classroom settings, peer interactions, and parental involvement. Despite the recognized importance of early religious education, limited research specifically examines how the madrasah environment influences children's religious learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the impact of the madrasah environment on the effectiveness of Islamic religious education in early childhood. Using a mixed-method approach, this research collects data from madrasah teachers, parents, and students through surveys, interviews, and classroom observations. The study evaluates different teaching strategies, the quality of learning materials, and the role of social interactions in enhancing religious understanding. It also explores how parental engagement contributes to reinforcing Islamic teachings at home. The findings of this research are expected to provide insights into best practices for improving the quality of religious education in madrasahs. The study will highlight the strengths and challenges of current educational practices and offer recommendations for optimizing teaching methodologies, improving institutional support, and fostering greater collaboration between madrasahs and families. The results will contribute to the broader discourse on early childhood Islamic education and inform policies aimed at enhancing religious learning experiences for young children.
