Abstract

Quran learning plays a crucial role in Islamic education, as it helps students develop proficiency in reading, reciting, and understanding Quranic texts. However, the impact of Quran learning on students' ability to write Quranic verses accurately remains an underexplored area. This study aims to examine the influence of Quran learning on the writing skills of junior high school students, focusing on their accuracy in transcribing Quranic verses, the effectiveness of different teaching methods, and the role of Arabic language proficiency in improving writing competence. The research employs a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative assessments of students’ writing accuracy with qualitative analysis of teaching methodologies. Data collection includes written tests, observations, and interviews with teachers and students to understand the factors affecting Quranic writing skills. The study evaluates common errors in students’ writing, such as misplacement of diacritical marks (harakat) and incorrect letter formation, and explores the correlation between recitation proficiency and writing accuracy. The findings are expected to reveal the extent to which Quran learning enhances students’ ability to write Quranic verses correctly. The study also aims to identify the most effective instructional approaches that balance oral recitation and writing practice. The results will provide valuable insights for educators and curriculum developers, highlighting the need for integrated Quran learning programs that strengthen both recitation and writing skills. Ultimately, this research contributes to the improvement of Islamic education by offering practical recommendations for enhancing Quranic literacy among junior high school students.
