Abstract

This research investigates the effect of organic cultivation techniques on the quality of vegetable harvests, focusing on key parameters such as nutritional content, sensory attributes, yield, shelf life, and environmental impact. Organic farming practices, which prioritize natural fertilizers, crop rotation, and biological pest control, are increasingly seen as sustainable alternatives to conventional agriculture, offering potential benefits for human health and the environment. However, the impact of these practices on vegetable quality remains a subject of ongoing debate. The study compares organically and conventionally grown vegetables to evaluate differences in nutrient composition, including vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, as well as the presence of chemical residues. Sensory attributes such as taste, texture, and appearance are also assessed to understand consumer preferences and market appeal. Additionally, the research explores the yield and productivity of organic cultivation, addressing concerns about its economic feasibility. Post-harvest factors, including shelf life and spoilage rates, are analyzed to assess the practical implications of organic farming for vegetable preservation. The findings suggest that organic cultivation techniques can lead to higher nutrient density and improved sensory qualities in some vegetables, while also promoting sustainability through better soil health and reduced chemical use. However, the study also highlights challenges related to lower yields and higher production costs associated with organic farming. The results contribute to a better understanding of the trade-offs between organic and conventional farming, offering valuable insights for farmers, policymakers, and consumers seeking to balance food quality, sustainability, and economic viability.
